GeoMineSweeper
Everything you need to clear your first minefield — from basic rules to advanced techniques.
The Goal
Reveal every safe cell on the board without detonating a mine. Use numbers to deduce where mines are hidden, flag them, and clear everything else to win.
Controls
Left click
Reveal a cell. If it has no adjacent mines, empty cells flood-fill automatically.
Right click
Place or remove a flag. Use flags to mark cells you are certain contain mines.
Middle click / double-click
Chord a numbered cell — instantly reveals its remaining neighbours when all its mines are flagged.
Reading the Numbers
Every revealed number tells you exactly how many mines are hidden among its eight surrounding cells — including diagonals. That is your only clue, and it is enough to solve the board logically.
The 3 in the centre means exactly 3 mines are hidden among its 8 surrounding cells.
Two are already flagged. The third is still hidden in one of the six remaining unrevealed cells.
Number colours match the classic Win98 palette: 1 = blue, 2 = green, 3 = red, 4 = navy…
Chording
Once all the mines around a numbered cell are flagged, you can chord it — middle-click or double-click — to instantly reveal all remaining neighbours. This is the key technique for fast times.
Before
3 flags placed — all mines accounted for
After chording
All safe neighbours revealed at once
On desktop, hovering over a chordable cell highlights its unrevealed neighbours in amber — a preview before you commit.
