What we collect

When you play GeoMinesweeper, we collect:

• Account info — email address and display name if you sign up
• Google profile — name and email if you sign in with Google
• Game scores — completion time, difficulty, and map for leaderboard entries
• Usage data — pages visited and game events, collected via PostHog and Google Analytics

How we use it

• Display your name and scores on leaderboards
• Send email verification and password reset links
• Detect cheating and maintain fair leaderboards
• Understand how people play to improve the game

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to third parties
• We don't show ads
• We don't share your email with anyone

Third-party services

We use these services to run the game:

• Google OAuth — optional sign-in
• Mailgun — transactional email delivery
• PostHog — product analytics
• Google Analytics — traffic analytics
• Sentry — error tracking

Each service operates under its own privacy policy.

Data retention

Game sessions are stored temporarily in Redis (30 minutes). Leaderboard entries and account data are kept indefinitely unless you request deletion.

Your rights

You can:

• Play without an account — no personal data required
• Request deletion of your account and scores
• Update your display name at any time

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. Analytics services may set their own cookies. No tracking cookies are used for advertising.
